::choosing the right photographer::

When it comes to your engagement photos, you want a photographer who is not only talented and well-connected, but one who also has a personality that complements yours. If you’re planning an out-of-town engagement shoot, make sure to inquire whether your photographer has worked with clients in that area before—and whether they have any suggestions for taking photos there. Ideally, your engagement photographer will be your wedding photographer.

::planning your session::

An engagement session is a great way to get some images that show your personality as a couple. There are many different styles of engagement session and you should choose one that best represents your relationship with your future spouse. Some popular styles include: Urban, Outdoor, Photojournalistic, etc… You’ll want to talk with your photographer ahead of time so they can help plan out how you will use different locations or backdrops.

::having fun during your session::

Engagement photo sessions are notoriously stressful—but they shouldn’t be. Try to have fun! Bring your favorite cocktail or snack. The more relaxed you and your partner are during your session, after all, means better photos that will showcase just how great of a couple you really are.

::making memories that last::

Engagement photos are great fun and a wonderful way to document a special time in your life. Having professional pictures taken together is also a great way to encourage you to get dressed up, take yourself out on an actual date, and make memories that will last for years to come. Engagement photos are snapshots that capture a couple in their element. When it comes to engagement photos, you’re not just posing for pictures – you’re making memories that last.
